“We are extremely proud to honour Mike Rencheck as CEO of the Year. He has contributed significantly to the prosperity of communities across the province,” said Rocco Rossi, President and CEO, Ontario Chamber of Commerce. “Under Mike’s leadership, Bruce Power has continued to produce 30 per cent of Ontario’s electricity at 30 per cent less than the average cost to generate residential power, and the company continues its production of medical isotopes to support health care across Canada and internationally.”

“Being recognized as the Ontario Chamber of Commerce’s Ontario Business Achievement Awards CEO of the Year is a tremendous honour and one that I share with the employees and contractors whose work every day has allowed us to keep providing Ontarians with clean, reliable, low-cost electricity,” said Mike Rencheck, President and CEO, Bruce Power. “Our Safety-First focus has played a significant role during COVID-19 not only in allowing us to continue producing electricity and medical isotopes, but in also realizing we have an obligation to help keep our communities safe.”
While the OBAAs has typically been an in-person gala event, this year, the OCC is presenting the first-ever Virtual Ontario Business Achievement Awards: Difference Maker Edition. The Awards will be aired on TLN on December 27, 2020, followed by OCC social media channels. Each episode will put a spotlight on these unsung heroes who continue to support our communities. From the incredible frontline and essential workers who have truly risen to the COVID challenge to the unveiling of this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award and CEO of the Year Award recipients – this is an event you don’t want to miss!
In addition to CEO of the Year and Lifetime Achievement Award of the year, the OBAAs will put a spotlight the incredible frontline and essential workers who have truly risen to the COVID challenge: grocery workers, truckers, healthcare workers, and construction workers.
