The Ontario Business Achievement Awards (OBAAs) is one of the most distinguished industry celebrations recognizing business success in the province. For over 40 years, the awards have celebrated the incredible innovations and accomplishments of businesses of all sizes, sectors, and corners of Ontario. The 2023 OBAAs were broadcast on TLN Television on October 14, with an encore presentation on October 15 to a national audience of over 200,000.

For the fifth consecutive year, the 2024 Ontario Business Achievement Awards will continue as a television broadcast in six back-to-back episodes, highlighting our business community’s unwavering strength and adaptability in the face of macroeconomic challenges.

The Ontario Chamber of Commerce is delighted to partner with organizations each year to deliver the broadcast of the Ontario Business Achievement Awards. This year’s episodes will be broadcast on TLN Television on November 16, with an encore presentation on November 17. The six episodes for 2024 will shine a spotlight on inspiring stories of perseverance and success.

  • The Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to a person who demonstrates leadership in a particular Ontario industry that has a significant positive impact on the province and beyond. The recipient’s business, personal, and philanthropic accomplishments are shared and celebrated by colleagues, friends, and family.
  • The CEO of the Year Award is presented to a CEO who has provided exceptional leadership over the past 12 months, bringing their organization to a new level of growth and success as defined by their industry. Our audience will hear important details that help define outstanding leadership from the CEO and others within their influence.
  • The Community Impact Award (*New in 2024*) is presented to a leader or a business that has demonstrated positive socio-economic impact through activities across Ontario. Our audience hears important details that help define community impact – both from the recipient and others within their circle of influence.
  • Ontario’s construction industry is a powerful economic engine, providing hundreds of thousands of jobs through a dynamic network of builders and unions. The Construction episode will explore the impressive number of new project starts across Ontario, demonstrating the sector’s vibrancy and its direct impact on job creation and economic stimulation.
  • Ontario isn’t just keeping pace in the global tech race – we’re poised to lead. Our province boasts an impressive per capita rate of technology development, positioning us as a formidable player on the world stage. But that’s just the beginning of our story. The Artificial Intelligence episode will highlight how AI frees up human talent for high-impact strategic thinking and planning. We’ll cut through the noise, examine the impact of AI on job markets, and explore the cutting-edge policies and regulations shaping our AI landscape.
  • Ontario’s future economic growth will be primarily driven by entrepreneurs who play a vital role in fostering innovation, creating job opportunities, spurring healthy competition, and encouraging already established businesses to enhance their offerings. The Entrepreneurship: Innovation in the Face of Disruption episode will dive into the true strength of our communities, which lies in the boldness and resilience of Ontario’s entrepreneurs, bringing forth innovative solutions that can help disrupt the current marketplace.
