GSK is donating $10 million to The COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund, created by the United Nations Foundation and World Health Organization to help prevent, detect, and manage the pandemic, particularly where the needs are the greatest. Learn more.

Metrolinx adjusted their schedule to ensure that health care workers are able to get to their shifts on time. Additionally, in response to COVID-19 Metrolinx is providing support for their frontline employees as well as donating masks, respirators and filters to frontline healthcare workers, and established the Metrolinx’s Emergency Operations Centre. Members of Innovative Medicines Canada (IMC) are continuing their efforts in the fight against COVID-19 by donating 100,000 N95 masks for front-line healthcare workers battling the virus. Learn more.

Niagara College is responding to an urgent need to protect the health and safety of the community, and those on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic. Initiatives include face shields created in college research labs at the Walker Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Centre; the provision of personal protective equipment, including N-95 masks, gloves and gowns collected from departments college-wide; and the production of sanitizer in the Niagara College Teaching Distillery. Desjardins has been named one of 3 financial institutions in North America recognized by the United Nations as a responsible institution during the COVID-19 pandemic. They have donated 20,000 N95 masks and 40,000 surgical masks and announced additional support for youth and relief for members and clients including lower credit card interest rates and refunds for auto insurance clients we are driving significantly less due to Covid-19 stay at home restrictions. Centennial College

Centennial College has developed various initiatives to contribute to the effort to respond to COVID-19. The college has been sending medical supplies to frontline healthcare workers in our community, distributing essential supplies and food to vulnerable populations in the community, and is developing an open-source design for a novel, portable ventilator.
