Daniel Tisch Announced as New President and CEO of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce
November 1, 2023(TORONTO – November 1, 2023) – After an extensive executive search, the Ontario Chamber of Commerce’s (OCC) Board of Directors is delighted to announce the appointment of Daniel Tisch as its new President and Chief Executive Officer effective January 2024.
“I am thrilled to welcome our new President and CEO Daniel Tisch to usher in a new era for the OCC and its members,” said Joaquim Ballès, Chair of the Board, OCC. “Dan emerged as the clear choice to lead the organization into a future of innovation and growth. His track record of successful leadership, combined with his deep industry knowledge and commitment to excellence, make him the ideal candidate to drive the OCC forward. He truly embodies the values of the OCC and we are confident that under his stewardship, the organization will thrive and continue to play a vital role in supporting businesses across our great province.”
Tisch brings a wealth of industry experience and leadership to his new role. In 20 years as CEO of Argyle Communications, he built the business into Canada’s largest management-owned communications consulting firm, and later co-founded Believeco Partners, an owner, operator and builder of leading North American communications and marketing agencies. Earlier, he held senior policy and communications roles in the Government of Canada. Over his 30-year career, Tisch has provided valuable insights to CEOs, boards, and government leaders, and held other significant roles such as chair of the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management. This extensive background uniquely positions him to lead the chamber into the future.
“After 30 years working at the intersection of business and public policy, I’m inspired and excited by the opportunity to lead the Ontario Chamber of Commerce – a powerful network committed to farsighted public policy, smart and ethical business, and inclusive, sustainable prosperity,” said Tisch. “Together, we must meet these tumultuous times with a spirit of optimism, partnership and leadership on issues that matter to businesses, workers, and communities in every part of Ontario. I can’t wait to get started.”
During the transitional period, Tisch will work closely with current President and CEO Rocco Rossi to ensure a smooth and seamless handover of responsibilities.
“Dan’s leadership and industry expertise make him the perfect leader to drive the OCC forward in its mission to support businesses across Ontario,” said Rocco Rossi, President and CEO, OCC. “When I step down in January 2024, I do so with the knowledge that the OCC is in capable hands, and I look forward to seeing the incredible achievements that lie ahead under Dan’s stewardship.”
The OCC extends its gratitude to Odgers Berndtson and its board search committee for their exhaustive efforts in identifying the ideal successor to lead the organization, uphold the interests of its members, and foster economic growth and competitiveness across the province.
