Trevor McPherson
Trevor McPherson assumed the role of President and CEO of the Mississauga Board of Trade (MBOT) in August 2021. Prior to joining MBOT, Trevor was with the Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC) for 15 years, with his last position serving as Vice President of Member Services.
A passionate advocate for the Chamber Network, Trevor led the OCC’s efforts to increase membership value, helping to expand the roster of member chambers of commerce and boards of trade from 127 to 156 during his final 3 years with the organization. With a keen interest in public policy, Trevor oversaw OCC’s annual Advocacy Day at Queen’s Park, one of the most successful and well-regarded OCC activities.
Trevor served as Director, Strategic Initiatives and Governance at the OCC from June 2006 to October 2017. In this capacity, Trevor oversaw the Ontario Economic Summit (OES) initiative, a program that brings together leaders from business, academia, labour and the not-for-profit sectors to tackle our most pressing economic challenges and growth opportunities. At the OCC, Trevor provided support to the OCC Board of Directors on matters of strategy and governance, serving as the staff resource for signature projects such as the renewal of OCC by-laws and the development of the OCC’s 2017-2019 and 2020-2025 strategic plans. Prior to the OCC, Trevor was employed with the Province of Ontario as an Area Director in the Trade Development Division of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.
A graduate of Queen’s University (Political Studies) and Seneca College (International Business Management), Trevor enjoys playing guitar, and spending time at the lake with his wife Jennifer and daughters Ella and Rachel.
