Rossi Announces Decision to Step Down, Successor Search Initiated
July 5, 2023(TORONTO, ON – July 5, 2023) – Today, Joaquim Ballès, Chair of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC), announced that Rocco Rossi has decided to step down from the role of President and CEO effective January 2024, after six remarkable years of advancing the goals and objectives of the organization.
“Rocco has been an exceptional leader, bringing steadfast commitment, strategic vision, and a deep understanding of Ontario’s business landscape to his role at the Ontario Chamber of Commerce,” said Joaquim Ballès, Chair, OCC. “Throughout his tenure, he has been instrumental in driving forward the interests of our members and advocating for a thriving business environment. We are immensely grateful for Rocco’s dedication and numerous contributions, and we wish him every success in his future endeavours.”
During his tenure at the OCC, Rossi’s dynamic approach, unwavering enthusiasm, and ability to drive impactful initiatives have significantly contributed to the organization’s success. He bolstered the Ontario chamber network, forged strong relationships with government bodies, and led the team in producing influential policy and advocacy work while developing impactful programs and services. Notably, Rossi demonstrated exceptional leadership during the challenging times of the pandemic spearheading the Ontario Vaccine Support Council, overseeing the efficient distribution of rapid tests, and implementing shop local programs to support small businesses.

Together, we have achieved remarkable progress in shaping policies that bring benefits to organizations of all sizes throughout the province,” said Rocco Rossi, President and CEO, OCC. “Although it was a challenging decision, I firmly believe that now is the opportune moment for new leadership to guide the organization as it embarks on an exciting new strategic plan.”
An executive search team has been formed, and Odgers Berndtson will initiate a comprehensive search to identify a suitable successor to lead the organization, advance the interests of its members and drive competitiveness and economic growth in the province.
