Putting Ontario on Top of the World’s Travel Bucket List
September 27, 2022(Toronto – September 27, 2022) – Today, Rocco Rossi, President & CEO, Ontario Chamber of Commerce, released the following statement to mark World Tourism Day:
“Ontario can and should be at the top of every tourist’s bucket list. Representing $36 billion of Ontario’s GDP, tourism is a vital sector for Ontario’s economy and its industries are critical for our economic recovery. The sector faced several obstacles prior to COVID-19, ranging from labour shortages to regulatory burdens, that have been magnified throughout the pandemic.
“The Ontario Chamber of Commerce is proud to partner with the Tourism Association of Ontario and our members to chart a path forward to ensure tourism remains a national economic contributor and that Ontario continues to be a competitive tourism destination within Canada and globally. Our organizations are bringing together experts to support the industry’s path forward with policy recommendations this Fall.”
