Province Reduces Critical Barriers to People and Business
April 28, 2020(Toronto – April 28, 2020) – Today, Rocco Rossi, President & CEO, Ontario Chamber of Commerce released the following statement in response to the Government of Ontario’s new website accepting proposals for temporarily changing rules and regulations and for taking action to pause or extend any existing public consultations, delaying non-urgent related consultations while the emergency situation remains in place.
“Reducing regulatory burdens caused by this crisis is greatly appreciated by the business community.
“This is welcome news for Ontario business, as most have been overwhelmed with adapting to the reality of doing business during a pandemic, supporting public health efforts to contain COVID-19, or simply balancing a heavier work-load.
“We applaud the Province for pausing or extending non-urgent consultations during this crisis. It is something we and many others have been calling for, as it will give industry more time to respond thoughtfully to government requests.
“We thank Premier Ford and his government for continuing to listen and respond to Ontario’s business community and for their continued leadership through this crisis.”
