Ontario Chamber Welcomes Further Support to Promote the Trades with Youth
August 27, 2020(Toronto, August 27, 2020) – Rocco Rossi, President & CEO, Ontario Chamber of Commerce released the following statement in reaction to the Government of Ontario’s announcement to expand youth training programs to promote the skilled trades.
“It is absolutely essential that we address the skills mismatch in the skilled trades in Ontario. This is welcome news for youth, business and the economic prosperity of our province.
“Young Ontarians should be given the tools and opportunities they need to successfully navigate the labour market and the economy. Students and their parents are often unaware of how lucrative and rewarding a career in the trades can be.
“Access to talent will be especially important post-pandemic, as Ontario invests in major infrastructure and other big projects to support economic recovery.”
