Ontario Business Community Ready to Reopen
May 6, 2020(Toronto – May 6, 2020) – Today, Rocco Rossi, President & CEO, Ontario Chamber of Commerce released the following statement in reaction to the provincial government’s announcement to allow more businesses and workplaces to reopen:
“Ontario’s business community is ready to get the economy moving. We thank the Province for their continued leadership during this crisis and commend them for pursuing re-opening in a thoughtful, careful, and gradual way. It is critical that we protect the health and safety of Ontarians while reopening the economy.
“We have heard from many businesses owners that they are concerned about access, cost, and training surrounding the personal protective equipment required to make their workplaces safe. We hope all levels of government will provide support to the business community so that we can get our economy moving quickly and safely.
“Testing, tracking and tracing will be key for containment of the virus and successful re-opening of the economy. Our recent report, Uncharted Territory, underscores the importance of implementing a comprehensive COVID-19 testing & tracing regime.”
