Ontario Chamber Announces “Building Resilience in a Changing Economy,” as the Theme of the 2024 Ontario Business Achievement Awards
September 24, 2024(TORONTO – September 24, 2024) – In an era of unprecedented global disruptions and economic uncertainty, the Ontario Chamber of Commerce presents the theme for this year’s Ontario Business Achievement Awards (OBAAs): Building Resilience in a Changing Economy. This timely focus celebrates our business community’s strength and adaptability in a world where technology, entrepreneurship and innovation are changing the economic development landscape.
“Behind every business, there’s a story of overcoming obstacles and navigating change. That’s why this year’s Ontario Business Achievement Awards celebrate our members’ fortitude, innovation and resilience,” said Daniel Tisch, President and CEO of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce. “The Ontario Chamber will shine a spotlight on industry leaders quietly shaping our economic future. It’s not just about recognizing success; it’s about understanding how entire sectors are revolutionizing and boosting our global competitiveness.”
The 2024 OBAAs feature stories of resilience and success, providing inspiration for the next generation of entrepreneurs and leaders. In addition to celebrating three award recipients for the Lifetime Achievement Award, CEO of the Year Award, and the new Community Impact Award, the broadcast series will include three sector-specific episodes:
Building Ontario’s Future: A Look at the Construction Industry will explore the stories behind the impressive number of new project starts across Ontario, demonstrating the sector’s vibrancy and impact on job creation and economic growth.
Powering Artificial Intelligence will highlight the impact of AI on job markets and productivity, and unpack how policies and regulations can shape our AI landscape.
Entrepreneurship: Innovation in the Face of Disruption will underscore the importance of small businesses to Ontario’s economic competitiveness, and to cultivating a business climate that supports future entrepreneurs.
The OBAAs, one of Canada’s most prestigious celebrations of business excellence, will air on November 16/17 on TLN Television. The OCC thanks its broadcast partner, TLN, and its series partner, CN Rail, for their continued support.
