Chamber Applauds the Province’s Decision to Defer Beer Tax Increase for Two Years
February 9, 2024(TORONTO– February 9, 2024) – Today, the Ontario Chamber of Commerce’s (OCC) President and CEO, Daniel Tisch, released the following statement in reaction to the Government of Ontario’s announcement to defer its annual automatic beer tax:
“The Ontario Chamber of Commerce applauds the provincial government’s decision to defer the automatic beer escalator tax increase for two years. As a steadfast advocate for this policy, we are grateful to see the government provide much-needed stability for breweries and the hospitality sector as they continue to recover from the pandemic and grow.”
