February 15, 2024(TORONTO– February 15, 2024) – Today, the Ontario Chamber of Commerce’s (OCC) President and CEO, Daniel Tisch, released the following statement:
“As President and CEO of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, I reiterate our longstanding appeal to support our most vulnerable communities across Ontario. The persistent crisis of mental health and addictions demands an immediate and comprehensive response that balances supports for individuals struggling with addictions while fostering a business environment conducive to recovery and community well-being. We urge the Government of Ontario to invest in evidence-based treatment like detox centres and healing lodges and allocate sustainable funding for vital health services. It is imperative that we work together to safeguard both lives and livelihoods.”
