Business Community Welcomes General Motors Investment in Oshawa and Ontario
May 8, 2019(Toronto, May 8, 2019) – Nancy Shaw, CEO of the Greater Oshawa Chamber of Commerce (GOCC) and Rocco Rossi, President and CEO of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC) released the following statement in response to the General Motors (GM) announcement made today.
“We are pleased to hear that GM has reached an agreement and is making investments in the Greater Oshawa community by re-skilling our workforce through the ‘Jobs Actions Centre’, retaining employment with intent to create new jobs, and adapting the Oshawa Plant Property into a test track for autonomous vehicles (AV).
