Addressing the Skilled Trade Shortages Critical for Recovery
October 7, 2020(Toronto – October 7th, 2020) – Today, Rocco Rossi, President & CEO, Ontario Chamber of Commerce released the following statement in response to the Ontario government’s announcement of further investment in skilled trades apprenticeships.
“We welcome today’s news from the Ontario government to take further action on apprenticeships for the skilled trades. The Ontario Chamber of Commerce has long advocated for the modernization of the apprenticeship system and the promotion of the skilled trades to fulfill labour and skills shortages across the province.
“It is critical to prioritize support for where skills shortages exist, using labour market data to ensure that training opportunities are available and supported to meet demand in high-growth industries.”
