Dr. Narongsak (Tek) Thongpapanl
Narongsak (Tek) Thongpapanl is Professor of Marketing and Product Innovation at the Goodman School of Business (Canada), Brock University’s CCOVI Research Fellow (Canada), and Chiang Mai University’s RAC Research Fellow (Thailand). Dr. Thongpapanl received his B.S. (magna cum laude) in Electrical Engineering, and his M.B.A. in Technological Entrepreneurship, and his Ph.D. in Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York (U.S.A.). Prior to joining the doctoral program, he worked with Advanced Energy Conversion and helped successfully launch a number of technological applications for the automotive, industrial and renewable energy industries.
His main research and teaching interests include new product development, innovation and technology management, e-commerce/m-commerce, wine marketing and business management, strategic marketing management in high-tech environments, marketing knowledge creation and management in highly dynamic settings, and the integration of marketing and technology competences.
His recent recognition includes the 2018 Michael Plyley Graduate Mentorship Award, 2016 University of Canterbury’s Visiting Erskine Fellowship, 2016-2017 Goodman School of Business Distinguished Researcher Award, 2015 Journal of International Marketing’s Outstanding Reviewer Award, 2015 CPA Ontario’s REC Research Grant, 2014 OMAFRA Research Grant, and 2014-2015 Departmental Researcher of the Year Award within Marketing, International Business, and Strategy.
