Robust Transportation Network Fundamental to a Stronger Ontario
October 30, 2019(Toronto, October 30, 2019) – Today, Rocco Rossi, President and CEO of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC) released the following statement in response to Toronto City Council’s vote to support Ontario’s transit expansion plan of the GTHA.
“A robust transportation network is critical to Ontario’s competitiveness. As stated in our report, Moving Forward: Towards a Strategic Approach to Ontario’s Transportation Needs, more remains to be done to ensure all corners of the province have access to reliable transportation options.
“That is why, as Ontario’s business advocate, we’re pleased to see the Province and City of Toronto working together to expand transit in Toronto. We look forward to working with all levels of Government to get shovels in the ground and urge the Province to engage the private sector as innovative technologies are adopted in the rollout of the plan.”
