TESTIMONIALS

— | “The tutorials were well-structured and the instructor was generous with her time, helping me fill the gaps in my knowledge. It was great to have the live class recordings to refer back to. I have only basic programming knowledge, but for me, the program has value in helping me understand the technology so that I can better speak to colleagues and customers. I can see digital twins being useful for monitoring off-site greenhouses, as well as for designing training modules for our staff as the company grows.” -Kerri H. |

— | “My experience with the training has been extremely positive. The weekly sessions are something I genuinely look forward to, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to develop new skills that I can apply both personally and professionally. One of my favorite parts has been learning how to use the software and then applying that knowledge to small projects. For instance, one of my first personal experiments was creating little lollipops using Prefabs, which was a fun and rewarding way to see the concepts in action. I can see this technology being incredibly valuable for Haven Greens, both immediately and long-term. In the short term, having a digital representation of Phase 2 would help us plan more efficiently, improve team communication, and identify potential challenges before they occur. It’s a hands-on way to visualize workflows, optimize layouts, and ensure smooth operations. Looking further ahead, I believe a full digital twin of the greenhouse could become an essential tool for managing lettuce growth and production. We could simulate variables like light intensity, nutrient concentration, ventilation strategies, and even unpredictable factors like pest infestations. Running these simulations in a digital environment would allow us to test “what-if” scenarios safely and efficiently, ultimately supporting healthier crops and more consistent yields.” -Carol L. |

— | “As our farm is a pretty dynamic system with a lot of inputs, it’s obvious that running the operation with a small crew can be a handful, so having reliable, up-to-date information at the farmer’s fingertips is essential. Whether it is a 3D representation like some of the examples we’ve seen or a simple dashboard that allows farmers and hands to see status and diagnose issues remotely, a reliable digital twin would allow a small operation like ours or a single farmer to allocate limited resources to maximize efficiency. I’m very excited about the possibilities of the digital twin concept and grateful for the chance to learn more about the tech, ways to apply it to our situation here at Meeting Place, and to gain enough familiarity to start talking to people about how it could be used for them. — | “My experience has been very positive. The course is well organized, with a clear balance between live instruction and self-paced learning. I appreciate the hands-on segments where we use Unity to build and apply digital twins, CAD asset optimization, and real-time data visualization. The instructors do a good job of breaking down complex technical concepts (including 3D modelling, simulations, asset workflows) into practical tasks, so even with limited prior tech/3D experience, I’ve been able to follow along and start applying what I learn. The skills from this course will let me create virtual, real-time 3D models (digital twins) of parts of my business—whether it’s the production space, workflow layout, or equipment setup. This means I can simulate changes (layout, process flow, machinery placement, etc.) before implementing them in real life, which helps reduce waste, costly mistakes, downtime, and inefficiencies.” -Ammar A. |

“The Seeding Digital Skills training program has been an incredibly valuable opportunity. Having access to a premier platform like Unity, paired with a wealth of structured resources, is not something most businesses would ever get without significant cost. The fact that it’s being offered at no charge is a major benefit, and I see real value in what it makes possible. |
