John Ruffolo Named OCC’s 2022 Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient

(Toronto – October 25, 2022) – As part of its 40^th annual Ontario Business Achievement Awards (OBAAs), the Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC) is proud to announce John Ruffolo, Maverix Private Equity Founder and Managing Partner, as the 2022 Lifetime Achievement Award recipient. The Lifetime Achievement Award is given to a person who demonstrates outstanding leadership throughout their career and has made a significant and positive impact on the province and beyond.

“We are honoured to have John Ruffolo as this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award recipient,” said Rocco Rossi, President and CEO of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce. “John’s impressive accomplishments throughout his career are a result of his resiliency and steadfast leadership. His business and philanthropic contributions help support and build a prosperous economy.”

The OBAAs is the most distinguished industry celebration in the province recognizing business success. This year’s 40th anniversary special will feature community leaders and organizations working toward an inclusive economy. These include the CEO of the Year and Lifetime Achievement awards for exceptional leadership and those that contribute to generating opportunities for persons with disabilities, climate action, inclusive hiring and advancing digital literacy.

“I am honoured and humbled to be recognized as the Ontario Chamber of Commerce’s OBAA Lifetime Achievement Award recipient,” said John Ruffolo. “My parents chose Ontario, Canada, as my birthplace. I have chosen Ontario, Canada, as the place I work, play and live. Ontario has served me well, and I hope to leave this province in a state better than the one I was raised for the sake of our children and our children’s children.”

The Lifetime Achievement Award televised episode will celebrate John’s inspiring career and the prestigious accolades he has received as a leader in Canadian business. He has been honoured with the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic, became a Fellow of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario, and received recognition as Canada’s #1 of 100 Most Powerful Business People by Canadian Business Magazine.
