Collective Approach Required To Get Virus Under Control
January 12, 2021(Toronto – January 12, 2021) – Today, Rocco Rossi, President & CEO, Ontario Chamber of Commerce released the following statement in reaction to new measures announced as part of Ontario’s province-wide lock-down measures.
“The best thing for business and workers is to get this virus under control. We all want businesses to be able to open their doors and we want people to be able to safely return to work. However, new modelling shows rampant growth of the virus and high prevalence of community transmission in Ontario. This means all Ontarians have a role to play in adhering to public health guidelines and rules. We all need to work together to reverse the trends we are seeing now in case numbers and alleviate pressures on our health care system.
“Government efforts need to be focused squarely on improved tracking and tracing, rapid testing, speeding up the current vaccination roll-out and getting support to those who need it most so we can get the province re-opened and back on the path of economic recovery.”
