Ontario business community urges swift clarity on Stellantis investment plans for Brampton
October 15, 2025(TORONTO/BRAMPTON – October 15, 2025) – In response to Stellantis’s plans to shift Jeep Compass production away from Brampton, the Ontario Chamber of Commerce and the Brampton Board of Trade issued the following joint statement:
“While this week’s announcement has caused great concern for businesses and the 3,000 employees affected, we welcome Stellantis’s public commitment to share plans for Brampton following discussions with government leaders. We urge swift clarity on the future of the facility in light of this disappointing news.
“Government, labour and industry share the same goal: securing investment and protecting jobs. That requires collaboration, not uncertainty.
“In our own conversations with government today, we are calling on all parties to finalize a plan that keeps production in Brampton and strengthens Ontario’s essential role in North America’s integrated auto supply chain.
“Our chambers stand ready to help.”
