Canada Consulate General of the Republic of Korea and the Ontario Chamber of Commerce to Co-host 2018 Korea – Canada Business Forum

June 18, 2018

(Toronto, June 13, 2018) –The Canada Consulate General of the Republic of Korea and the Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC) will be co-hosting the 2018 Korea – Canada Business Forum: Exploring and Expanding Global Partnerships between Korea and Canada, on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 in Toronto.

The Forum will focus on opportunities related to the Korea-Canada Free Trade Agreement and provide businesses with information on how to better position their company in light of the rapidly evolving global technological revolution.  A key highlight of the Forum will be the session on the 4th Industrial Revolution and how artificial intelligence is reshaping commerce platforms.

Tae-in Chung, Consul General of the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Toronto, hope this forum will be an annual event which will enhance the relationship between Korean and Canadian businesses.

Canada and Korea have had a strong tradition of co-operation, sharing many common values. Trade and investment between the two nations have grown steadily over the years and with the signing of the Korea-Canada Free Trade Agreement, trade ties have continued to strengthen.

Providing forums to help companies network and better understand reciprocal opportunities will help build relationships that will lead to increased two-way trade.  The Forum will provide insights on how the Agreement will impact business.

“This forum is an excellent opportunity to help establish relationships between Korean and Ontario businesses,” said Rocco Rossi, President and CEO, Ontario Chamber of Commerce.   “I encourage businesses who are looking to better understand the opportunities available to expand their export horizons to join us for this dynamic forum.”
