Introducing the AI Hub
On April 10, the Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC) launched its Artificial Intelligence (AI) Hub. The OCC’s AI Hub will bring together industry and academia to inform actionable public policy, promote adoption, and advance knowledge on AI use cases. This will support ethical technology application and adoption across the province. Read the release.
Ontario is a leader in AI technology, with a long history of AI research and development, a thriving start-up ecosystem, and robust, ever-growing technology sector. Despite this, AI adoption remains low, with only 4 percent of Canadian businesses utilizing AI in their operations. Concerns such as ethics, privacy, and skill shortages hinder adoption, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Overcoming these barriers is crucial for businesses to improve customer experiences, streamline operations, and enhance decision-making. Encouraging tech adoption province-wide will also support increased productivity – addressing one of province’s most significant economic challenges.
