The Opportunity

Research was completed by Toronto Metropolitan University’s Diversity Institute (formerly Ryerson University)  in collaboration with the Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC) and the Fédération des Chambres de Commerce du Québec (FCCQ) to better understand the challenges small- to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have with respect to training and skills gaps.

This research identified that SMEs have a distinct competitive challenge with respect to skills shortages, with limited capacity for talent development internally.

In Response, ‘Unleashing LMS at Scale’ is designed to…

Support the deployment of free and sponsored training and skills development content.

Provide SMEs with access to training resources to promote diverse and inclusive hiring practices.

Develop a model that is cost effective and easily scalable with tools designed specifically for SMEs.
