We are seeking a hands-on Financial Controller with considerable experience working in a professional services or member-based environment in the private, public or non-profit sectors.
This is a six months engagement. Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, the Interim Financial Controller will provide support in the following areas:
- Month-end closure and financial reporting; Finance, Audit and Risk Committee reporting including budget variance reports, KPIs reporting.
- Year-end audit; procedural improvements based on audit recommendations.
- Grants and subsidies distribution programs quarterly reporting to and quarterly audits by the funding agencies.
- Continuing improvements of the ERP system (Business Central) and the completion of the project of its integration with CRM; documentation of the ERP SOPs.
- Any other ad hoc tasks related to financial reporting, planning and analysis.

What you’ll bring to the Ontario Chamber
Required:
- University Degree in Finance
- CPA designation or an international equivalent
- 5+ years of progressive professional accounting experience
- Proficiency in ASNPO and/or ASPE, periodic and annual financial statements preparation
- Experience coordinating external audits
- Experience documenting business processes, developing accounting procedures
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Hands-on experience with accounting software for small to mid-size enterprizes (QuickBooks, Business Central, Netsuite, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently under minimal supervision and manage conflicting priorities
- Thorough attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
Nice to have:
- Experience in a not-for-profit sector
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central/ NAV
- Development of KPIs and dashboards
- Familiarity with a CRM system
Working Arrangement
The position is based at the OCC’s downtown Toronto office, with easy access to transit. We offer a flexible, hybrid workplace with remote work possible for up to two (2) days per week.
