The Ontario Chamber of Commerce 2025-2028 Strategic Plan will guide our efforts and ensure we are well-positioned to be the indispensable partner of business across Ontario.

Our strategy recognizes the unique economic and political context – in Canada and abroad – as we seek to bring inclusive and sustainable prosperity for all of Ontario’s businesses, workers, and communities.

The OCC leadership team developed this plan based on the thoughtful perspectives of our members, our chambers, our board, our team, and our communities.

Mission

To convene, mobilize, and empower business and local chambers to lead positive change – something no one can achieve alone.

Vision

To be the indispensable partner of business, successfully advocating for businesses of all sizes, all sectors, and in all communities.

Over the Strategic Plan, the OCC will:

  • Deliver an end-to-end member experience with improved member stewardship.
  • Provide advanced economic and policy intelligence, and market research for members. Broaden business recognition programs to strengthen relevance and affinity.
  • Be the gateway to the SME community, in partnership with our chambers.

To achieve the following outcomes:

  • Strengthen speed, credibility, and reach OCC’s advocacy.
  • Enhance member engagement, growth & retention – across the Chamber network.

Leverage the Ontario Chamber Brand through compelling differentiation.

This means we play a uniquely valuable role as a thought leader and mobilizer of Ontario businesses of all sizes, in all sectors, and in all regions.

Over the Strategic Plan, the OCC will:

  • Reposition our brand to a mobilizer of businesses, chambers, and communities.
  • Provide advanced economic and policy intelligence, and market research for members.
  • Enhance main street awareness and engagement through simple, digestible, and visual thought leadership.
  • Enhance reputation as a provincial and national thought leader and convenor.

To achieve the following outcomes:

  • Increase brand reputation & affinity.
  • Increase quality and quantity of media coverage & influencer conversation.
  • Increase business and government participation in OCC activities – enabling influence & impact.

  • Improve OCC’s ability to anticipate and mitigate risks.

  • Define and execute integrated 3-year visions, goals and agendas for Policy Councils.
  • Mobilize Ontario’s Chamber Network and business community in public advocacy.
  • Expand interjurisdictional collaboration, influence, and advocacy impact.

To achieve the following outcomes:

  • Enhance relevance of policy and advocacy strategy.
  • Achieve advocacy wins on areas of high importance to members.
  • Increase member engagement for chambers and SMEs.
